Sir Robert Baden-Powell once said,
“ The spirit is there in every boy; it has to be discovered and brought to light. ”
I think that statement by the founder of the Scouting movement captures what Troop 708 is all about. We believe in the potetial for great things in every Scout. The programs and activities of our troop are designed to help discover and achieve that potential. Our purpose is to develop outdoor skills and leadership traits that will serve the boys for a lifetime.
Ours is truly a boy lead troop composed of more than 60 Scouts. That's quite a change from the group of 8 boys who started Troop 708 in the fall of 2001. In addition, we have nearly 50 registered adults who provide instruction, advice and mentorship as our boys progress along their Scouting trail.
